Growing up in Denver, the oldest of twelve and a twin, I began painting and taking photos while in high school. My inspiration often came from hiking in the mountains or helping my grandmother tend to her lovely gardens.
I came to St. Louis in the late sixties and became involved in the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood. I was fortunate to have met neighbor and artist Bill Kohn and my future husband photographer Bob Moore. In the eighties, I joined the marketing department of Centerre Bank as Art Director.
I teamed up with Bob in the nineties to form the Moore Design Group and often accompanied him to photograph the historic buildings, attractions and events for the St. Louis Front Page web site.
We relocated our office to South St. Louis in 2002 with the purchase of a three-story Victorian storefront (circa 1896), where we lived in the apartment above the office/gallery. The side lot became my garden and source of inspiration for many paintings.
I was so excited to have a solo photography exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden, as part of the citywide stl250 celebration in 2014. My photo of “Sledding on Art Hill” was featured at the Sheldon Art Galleries and is included in their book, “The City at 250”, a Celebration of St. Louis in Photographs.”
As a fine art photographer and artist, I continue to be energized by the beautiful architecture and parks of St. Louis.
My current passion is to paint landscapes.. I was inspired by a recent trip to the Santa Fe area with a visit to the Georgia O'Keeffe gallery and Ghost Ranch. New work will feature this area in a series title "Ghosts in the Rocks."

Bob Moore (1938 - 2019)
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Bob spent many summers in art programs at the Detroit Art Museum. He enlisted in the Air Force after high school graduation and served as base photographer in Okinawa during the 50s.
Bob became a staff photographer for the major daily newspaper, The St. Louis Globe-Democrat in the seventies. When the unions went on strike in 1973, he rallied several Globe writers to launch Concert-News, the World of Rock Newspaper. Over the next seven years, he photographed national and international recording stars, including Paul McCarthy, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Nektar, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath.
In June of 1995, Bob formed the Moore Design Group with his wife Elizabeth (Betty), a graphic designer, artist and writer, and opened an office on Laclede's Landing. Always the pioneer, he began exploring art and photography through electronic media including the Internet.
While attending a photo convention in Toronto, Canada, he discovered only a handful of sites about St. Louis. Inspired to shine a bright light on St. Louis, he returned home and began working on a web site to feature the attractions and historical neighborhoods of the metropolitan area.
In February of 1996, he launched the Saint Louis Front Page The St. Louis Fine Restaurant Guide, St. Louis Hotels Guide and St. Louis Attractions and Southwest Illinois News soon followed.
Bob's fine art photography is part of collections at Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse, the License Collector's Office at Saint Louis City Hall, the Old Spaghetti Factory on Laclede's Landing, Grafica Fine Art Gallery, as well as corporate and individuals through the country.
The Moore Design Group received the Neighborhood Business of the Year Award 2014 from St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay.
My photos are a reference for paintings which I work on in my home studio on the third floor of the Victorian storefront. Surrounded by plants and filtered light coming through the windows, I find it's easy to tune out the sound of traffic and birds chattering outside. Listening to classic music or playing the violin also helps me focus. Memories of places I have visited, people I have met and the family I love dearly are an integral part of the experience of creating art. Being able to share my work just adds another layer of joy.
I use energetic strokes, bright jewel colors and layers of texture to create impressionistic scenes on canvas. My medium of choice is water mixable oils.
My artwork has been featured in a number of local and national juried exhibitions at galleries including: Saint Louis Artists' Guild; Art Saint Louis, Sheldon Art Galleries, Webster Arts Center, Soulard Art Market, and Des Peres Hospital
